SpectraMax ABS Plus instrument crucial in evaluating setomimycin's biological activities
In a study from the Molecular Diversity Journal1, the SpectraMax ABS Plus microplate reader was utilized for various assays to evaluate the biological activities of setomimycin and other compounds. For the nitric oxide assay, it measured the absorbance of nitrite concentration in cell culture supernatants using the Griess reagent. In the antioxidant activity evaluation, it determined the absorbance of DPPH radical solution mixed with the test samples. Lastly, for cytotoxicity evaluation using the MTT assay, it quantified cell viability by measuring the absorbance of solubilized formazan crystals. These measurements provided quantitative data on the effects of the tested compounds on nitric oxide production, antioxidant activity, and cell viability.
